Social Media Management is not a service you buy. It is a relationship you apply for.

Capacity is limited by design. I work with a small number of clients at any one time because the depth of focus this service requires cannot be maintained at scale. Every client gets the same rigorous, structured approach. That is only possible because I protect the number of relationships I take on.

A leaking bucket with water dropping in from above and pooling at the base through a crack, representing marketing effort that is not being retained due to a lack of commercial structure underneath it.

When social media is costing more than it is returning

You built this business with a clear picture of what you wanted it to achieve. The clients you wanted to work with. The income that would give you the freedom you were working towards. The reputation that would reflect the quality of what you actually deliver.

Social media was supposed to support that. Instead it has become either a drain on time you do not have or a presence that goes out consistently but does not seem to be moving anything forward.

Think of your marketing effort as water going into a bucket. You are filling it consistently. Content goes out, time is invested and money may have been spent on support at some point. But if the bucket has a leak it does not matter how much water you pour in. The level never rises the way it should. The effort disappears at the same rate it goes in and the results never reflect the work behind them.

That leak is the absence of commercial structure behind the activity. Whether the content is not going out consistently enough or it is going out without commercial intent behind it the result is the same. Time spent without return and revenue left on the table because the right people are not seeing enough of the right message often enough to act.

You have done the hard part. You have built something worth finding. The right structure behind the effort you are already making is what changes the result.

That is what this service puts in place.

This is not outsourced posting

Every Social Media Management client begins with a fixed onboarding month at £2,000. This is not an admin process. It is the investigative and strategic foundation that makes every month of management that follows commercially purposeful.

During the onboarding month you complete a structured questionnaire covering your business, your positioning, your offers, your audience and your goals. A dedicated research phase follows covering your ideal client, your offer landscape, relevant keywords, content pillars and the competitive context your business operates in. That research is what ensures the 12-month strategic vision is built on evidence rather than assumption.

Your onboarding month includes a 2-hour initial strategy session. This session covers the Brand Alignment Audit findings and confirms your 12-month strategic vision. By the end of the session your 12-month vision is agreed and the build of your custom Airtable strategic planning interface has begun.

Following the session you receive your Brand Alignment Audit document within five working days and your 12-month strategic vision document and your Airtable interface within ten working days. The interface gives both of us a shared reference point for every monthly strategy call throughout the relationship.

At the beginning of month two your first monthly 60-minute strategy call takes place. Content is planned and created ready for your review and approval by the fifteenth of the month. Content goes live on the 1st of month three. Every piece is built on a properly investigated strategic foundation.

From month three the monthly rhythm is established. A 60-minute strategy call at the beginning of every month. Content planned, created, scheduled and published with commercial intent behind every piece. Analytics reviewed and acted on. Campaigns built around your offers. Accessibility integrated as standard across everything.

At month five the first full performance review happens in the monthly strategy call. Month three is the first complete month of live content and month five is when a complete month of meaningful data is available to review properly against the 12-month vision.

At six months and twelve months a structured 2-hour progress review covers commercial performance against the 12-month vision, reviews the Airtable interface report, adjusts the direction where needed and confirms the next six months The rolling structure means there is always a minimum of six months of confirmed direction ahead and planning with a vision of 12 months ahead.

This is a commercially structured social media presence managed by someone who treats your visibility as the commercial asset it is.

What this looks like once it is working

Picture opening your week without the weight of what you are going to post sitting somewhere at the back of your mind. Your social media is planned, structured and going out consistently aligned to where your business is commercially right now and where it is heading. That part of your week no longer belongs to you. It is handled.

And when one of those drops stops falling into an already overflowing bucket everything else gets a little more room. The client delivery gets your full attention. The financial planning gets done rather than deferred. The family time is actually family time rather than time where you are half present and half composing a caption in your head.

The enquiries that come in are from the right people. People who have already read enough to know exactly what you offer, why you are different and why they want to talk to you specifically. The conversation starts at a different level because your presence has already done the qualifying work before they ever make contact.

You are spending your time on the parts of your business you actually built it for. Client delivery. Growth. The work that only you can do. Your social media is working for you while you focus on everything else.

That is what strategic management built on an accurate picture of your business actually delivers. The shift is structural rather than immediate and it is the only kind that holds.

An overflowing bucket with twenty labelled drops in three colours representing the competing demands on an established service provider. Teal drops show what Social Media Management can take off your plate including social media content, social media scheduling, strategy, brand alignment, campaign planning and reporting and analytics. Blue drops show business demands that remain including client delivery, client communications, invoicing, proposals and quotes, financial planning, business admin, sales conversations, following up enquiries, networking and training and professional development. White drops show personal demands including family, health and wellbeing, household management and personal relationships.

How It Works

Stage 1 of social media management process showing application review and discovery call before onboarding.
Stage 2 onboarding foundations requiring Brand Alignment Audit and Brand Foundations Blueprint prior to ongoing social media management
Stage 3 delivery process for social media management showing strategy, content creation, accessibility, and review in an ongoing cycle.

1

Qualification

Your first step is finding out whether this is the right fit before either of us commits to anything.

You submit an application covering your business, your current position, what you are working toward and where social media currently sits in relation to your goals. Every application is reviewed personally. If a different service would better suit where you are right now you will hear that clearly and with a recommendation for where to go instead. That response is the first demonstration of how this works.

If your application indicates a strong fit you will be invited to a discovery call. This is a focused conversation about your business, your goals and how the management relationship would work in practice. It is also your opportunity to ask anything you need to ask before deciding whether to proceed. Nothing is agreed until you are confident it is right.

There is no cost to apply and no obligation to proceed at any point during this stage.

2

Foundations and Strategic Vision

Your onboarding month is where the investigation happens and the strategic foundation is built.

You complete a structured questionnaire before the onboarding session. A dedicated research phase covering your ideal client, your offer landscape, relevant keywords and content pillars is completed before the session. The 2-hour initial strategy session covers the Brand Alignment Audit findings and confirms your 12-month strategic vision.

Following the session you receive your Brand Alignment Audit document within five working days and your 12-month strategic vision document and your custom Airtable strategic planning interface within ten working days. The interface gives both of us a shared reference point for every monthly strategy call throughout the relationship.

The onboarding month is charged at a fixed fee of £2,000 regardless of when in the month the engagement begins. Monthly management fees apply from month two.

3

Delivery

From month two the monthly rhythm begins.

Your first monthly 60-minute strategy call takes place at the beginning of month two. Content is planned and created ready for your review and approval by the fifteenth. Content goes live on the 1st of month three.

From month three the monthly rhythm is fully established. A 60-minute strategy call at the beginning of every month defines the commercial focus and content direction for the coming month based on the previous month's reporting and the 12-month strategic vision. Content is planned, created, scheduled and published with commercial intent behind every piece. Analytics are reviewed and acted on. Campaigns are built around your offers. Accessibility is integrated as standard across everything.

The first full performance review happens in the month five strategy call when a complete month of meaningful data is available to review properly against the 12-month vision.

At six months and twelve months a structured 2-hour progress review covers commercial performance against the 12-month strategic vision, reviews the Airtable interface report, adjusts the direction where needed and confirms the next six months. The rolling structure means there is always a minimum of six months of confirmed direction ahead.

Your content approval preference is agreed upfront. Review and approve by the fifteenth of each month or fully delegate approval. Your standards are maintained without your time being consumed by the process of maintaining them.

Why It Matters

Every week that passes without commercial structure behind your social media is a week of effort that does not build toward anything. The content goes out. The time is spent. But without a strategy that connects your content to your offers and your messaging to the people you want to reach, visibility does not convert. It simply continues.

And the cost of that is not just the time.

What the cost actually looks like:

  • Enquiries that never came because your presence did not create enough confidence

  • The right clients who found someone else because their message was clearer

  • Revenue that stayed out of reach not because your work was not good enough but because your marketing was not reflecting it accurately enough

  • Hours spent on content that felt disconnected from what your business was actually trying to achieve

  • The quiet frustration of doing the right things and not seeing them return what they should

That is what unstructured visibility costs. Quietly, consistently and over time.

When strategic management is in place that changes.

1

Your social media is planned around your commercial goals and produced with commercial intention rather than around your availability

2

Your messaging is consistent, considered and speaking to the people you actually built this business to serve

3

Your campaigns are structured around your offers so every promotional period has purpose and direction behind it

4

The mental load of social media lifts and the time and energy it was consuming goes back to the parts of your business and your life that need you most

For an established service provider who has been carrying the weight of their social media alongside client delivery, business growth, family and everything else competing for the same finite time this is a structural change in how the business operates.

Your business deserves a presence that reflects what you have actually built and works as hard as you do. That is what this service exists to deliver.

Why Work With Me

Hayley Willison, founder of The Efficient Penguin Co., professional headshot against a dark neutral background, wearing a navy blazer and glasses, smiling directly at the camera.

You have built something worth finding. What you need now is someone who will manage your visibility with the same care and standards you apply to your own work.

I spent 12.5 years in professional investigation following lines of enquiry, locating evidence and building accurate pictures of what was actually happening, and 18 months building quality assurance systems from scratch in an environment where getting it wrong had real consequences. I manage social media as a commercial asset with the same rigour, documentation and structured accountability I applied in every previous role.

That background shapes how this service works. Investigation before recommendation. Evidence before action. Findings documented clearly and delivered honestly. Your business gets that same approach from the first day.

I am trained by Paula Edwards, The Two Lauras and Charlotte Wibberley through her CPD-accredited Certified Launch and Funnel Strategist programme. The methodology behind this service is evidence-based, structured and built around your specific business goals. A commercially intentional approach built on an accurate picture of your business from day one.

What that means for you in practice is specific and consistent. Updates arrive without you having to chase for them. What you are told will happen will happen. If something is not working you will know about it before you have to ask. And if something needs to change you will hear it directly rather than watching it drift.

I work with a small number of clients at any one time. That is a deliberate decision that protects the depth of focus this service requires. It is how I remain fully focused on delivering the service your business deserves.

For an established service provider who has been managing their social media around everything else, who has been second guessing every post, wondering whether any of it is working and carrying the weight of it alongside client delivery, business growth and everything else competing for the same finite time, handing it over to someone who will treat it with the same seriousness you treat your own work is not just a practical decision.

It is the moment the business starts operating the way you always intended it to. With your energy focused where it belongs and your visibility being built by someone who understands what is at stake.

If you have been let down by a previous provider I understand why that makes this decision harder. The Four Pillars of Trust are my proprietary business framework. Consistency, Transparency, Accountability and Reliability. They are not values that get talked about here. They are how this works. Every time.

Social Media Management

Done for you. Commercially intentional. Built around your business.

This is not a content subscription. It is a strategically managed social media presence built on an accurate investigation of your business, delivered by someone who treats your visibility as the commercial asset it is.

Your onboarding begins with a Brand Alignment Audit included as standard. Your monthly management is structured around your commercial goals. Your content goes out with purpose behind it. And every decision made about your social media is grounded in evidence, not assumption.

Social Media Management at The Efficient Penguin Co. is tailored to your business, application only, and available to a small number of clients at any one time.

Onboarding is £2,000 fixed fee.

Monthly management from £1,500 per month from month two.

Your monthly management investment is confirmed following your discovery call and built specifically around your business, your platforms and your goals. The onboarding fee is fixed at £2,000 regardless of when in the month the engagement begins.

What Is Included

Every element of your management package is built around your business specifically. Here is what that looks like in practice and what it means for you.

A flowchart showing the seven stages of the monthly Social Media Management service.

Monthly Strategy Call

Your month starts with a focused call defining your priorities, your commercial focus and your key objectives for the weeks ahead. The direction is agreed and documented before a single piece of content is created. A clear month ahead with purpose behind every decision.

Campaign & Launch Planning

Your promotional activity is planned around your offers and your commercial calendar, not produced reactively when you remember something needs promoting. The right people see the right message at the right time because the planning happens in advance rather than in the moment.

Content Planning & Creation

Your content is created with commercial intent behind every piece. It speaks to the people you want to reach, reflects the positioning your business has worked to build, and goes out consistently without you having to find the time, find the words or find the energy for it alongside everything else.

Scheduling & Publishing

Your content is scheduled and published on your behalf, on the right platforms, at the right times, to the agreed frequency. You reclaim the time and mental energy that reactive posting was taking from every other part of your week.

Accessibility Integration

Every piece of content is formatted to be accessible as standard. Captions, alt text and inclusive formatting means your message reaches more people, including the significant proportion of your audience who consume content without sound or who rely on assistive technology. Accessible content is both inclusive and commercially smarter.

Analytics & Insight-Led Reporting

Your performance data is reviewed and acted on every month, not just collected. You always know what is working, what needs adjusting and why. Your social media improves over time rather than repeating the same activity regardless of what the data shows.

Content Approval Options

You choose how involved you want to be. Review and approve content by the fifteenth of each month or fully delegate approval. Your preference is agreed upfront and does not change without your input. Your standards are maintained without your time being consumed by the process of maintaining them.

Every element above is included as part of your bespoke management package. Your final package is confirmed following your discovery call and built specifically around your business, your platforms and your goals.

My guarantee to you

Four commitments underpin every Social Media Management relationship I enter into.

The management will be built on an accurate picture of your business. Every client begins with a Brand Alignment Audit during onboarding. The management that follows is built on what the evidence shows about your business rather than on assumption. Nothing is guessed and nothing is produced without commercial intention behind it.

The management will be aligned to your business goals. Every month your strategy is defined around your current commercial priorities, your offers and where your business is heading. If your goals change the strategy changes with them. You will never be paying for management that is pointed in the wrong direction.

The communication will be consistent. You will not have to chase for updates. What you are told will happen will happen. If something is not working you will know about it before you have to ask. If something needs to change you will hear it directly.

The fit will be honest. Because this service is application only if it becomes clear at any point during the discovery call or onboarding that this is not the right fit for your business right now that will be communicated clearly and without obligation. Your time and your investment will not be committed to something that is not right for where you are.

These are not aspirational values. They are the standard every client receives. Every time.

The business you have built deserves more.

You have already done the hard part. You have built something real, something good, something that delivers genuine value to the people you work with. That does not happen without standards, without commitment, without showing up consistently even when it is difficult.

And yet the way your business is showing up online does not yet reflect that. The structure behind the visibility is not yet reflecting it accurately enough for the right people to find you with confidence.

That gap is costing you. Not in one visible moment. Quietly, consistently, every single week.

While that gap stays open:

The right clients are finding someone else whose presence gave them more confidence, not because that business is better than yours, but because it was clearer.

The time you are spending on social media is time taken from the work you actually built this business to do, client delivery, growth, the parts of your life that deserve your full attention.

Consistency alone is not enough when the foundations underneath it are not solid. The effort resets every month rather than building toward anything that lasts.

The business you have built stays smaller than it should be, not because of the quality of your work, but because your visibility is not yet reflecting it accurately enough for the right people to find you with confidence.

The right person taking ownership of this part of your business is what changes it. The effort you have already put in finally starts to work the way it should.

That is what changes when strategic management is in place. Not overnight. But measurably, consistently, and in a way that holds.

The difference between where you are now and where you want your business to be is not more effort. It is the right structure behind the effort you are already making.

The capacity to take on new clients is limited and intentional. If you are ready to stop managing this and start having it managed properly, the application is the right next step.

Current Availability

Social Media Management at The Efficient Penguin Co. is currently operating on a waiting list.

This is a genuine reflection of how this service is built. The depth of investigation, the strategic oversight and the commercial rigour that every client receives cannot be maintained across an unlimited number of clients. That standard matters more than the number of clients. It always will.

What that means for you is that when a space becomes available the client who fills it receives the same level of focus and commitment as every other client before them. The full service. Every time.

Applications are reviewed as spaces open. The earlier you apply the earlier your application is considered. There is no cost to apply and no obligation to proceed when a space becomes available.

Your business has already waited long enough for its social media to reflect what you have actually built. The application takes minutes. What it starts is worth considerably more than that.

FAQ's

Why is this application only and not something I can just sign up for?

Because the right fit matters more than the number of clients. Social Media Management at The Efficient Penguin Co. is a close working relationship built on an accurate picture of your business. Taking on a client without that fit being confirmed would mean delivering a service that is not right for their situation. The application process protects your time and mine before either of us commits to anything.

Am I committed if I submit an application?

No. Submitting an application is the first step in a conversation, not a commitment to proceed. There is no obligation at any point until a proposal has been agreed and a contract signed. If at any stage it becomes clear that this is not the right fit, that will be communicated honestly and without pressure.

What happens if my application is not successful?

If your application is not progressed you will receive a clear explanation of why and, where relevant, a recommendation for which service would better suit where your business is right now. Not being progressed at this stage does not close the door permanently. It is an honest assessment of fit at this particular point in time and a redirection toward the right starting point for where your business currently is.

I have worked with a social media manager before and it did not work. How is this different?

The most common reason social media management does not work is that it begins without an accurate picture of the business it is supposed to represent. Content goes out, time is spent, but the foundations underneath it are not solid enough to convert the activity into results. Every client here begins with a Brand Alignment Audit before a single piece of content is created. The management is built on evidence, not assumption. That is a different starting point and it produces different results

Why do I need a Brand Alignment Audit before management begins?

Because managing a business's social media without an accurate picture of how it is currently presenting itself means managing misalignment. The audit finds the gap between the business you have built and the way it is currently being seen by the people you want to reach. Without that picture the management has no solid foundation to work from. With it, every decision made about your social media is grounded in evidence from day one.

How long before a space becomes available?

That depends on when the next space becomes available and the number of applications already being considered. There is no fixed timeline that can be given honestly. What can be said is that applying sooner means your application is considered sooner. There is no cost to apply and no obligation to proceed when a space becomes available.

How much involvement is required from me once management begins?

Less than you are currently spending. Your monthly strategy call is the primary touchpoint. Beyond that, if you choose to review and approve content you will do so by the fifteenth of each month. If you choose to fully delegate approval, your involvement is even lighter. You will receive monthly reporting and six and twelve month progress reviews so you always know what is happening without having to chase for it.

Do I have to approve content and what if I do not want to?

You have a choice. You can review and approve content by the fifteenth of each month or fully delegate approval. Both options are available and both are agreed upfront before management begins. Your preference does not change without your input and there is no pressure to be more involved than you want to be. The goal is for this to take weight off you, not add to it.

How will I know what is working?

Every month you receive a report covering what has performed, what has been adjusted and why. Every six months you receive a structured progress review and every twelve months a comprehensive annual review. You will always know what is happening with your social media and why decisions are being made. There are no surprises and no silences.

Do you guarantee growth?

Growth in follower numbers, reach and enquiries depends on factors that go beyond the management itself, including the quality of your offer, your pricing, your wider reputation and the time it takes for consistent, strategic visibility to build traction with the right audience. What is guaranteed is the rigour of the process, the alignment of the management to your commercial goals, the consistency of the communication, and the honesty of the findings at every stage. Those are the things within direct control and those are the things every client can count on.

How does this sit alongside my other marketing?

Social media management is one part of a broader marketing ecosystem. It works best when it is connected to your other visibility activity rather than operating in isolation. During onboarding the Brand Alignment Audit gives a full picture of how your business is currently showing up across every channel. Where your social media and other marketing activity are not yet aligned, you will see that in the audit findings and the management will be built to address it from the start.

Is there a minimum contract period?

Yes. The initial contract period is twelve months. After that the agreement moves to a rolling basis. Termination can be given at any point with thirty days notice required.

Social media management requires time to build the foundations, establish the rhythm and produce results that are meaningful rather than superficial. Twelve months ensures the management has the time it needs to work properly and that your investment is protected rather than assessed before it has had the opportunity to deliver.

Why does content not go live until month three?

Because the first month is dedicated entirely to the investigation and strategic foundation that makes every piece of content commercially purposeful. The Brand Alignment Audit, the research phase, the 2-hour strategy session and the 12-month strategic vision are all completed in month one. Month two is where the first monthly strategy call happens and content is planned and created ready to go live in month three. Every piece of content that goes out is built on a properly investigated strategic foundation rather than produced before the picture is clear. That is not a delay. It is the reason the management works properly from the moment content goes live.
